Yes, and it is the first thing we get asked. The gear is solid beechwood finished with non-toxic, lead-free paint, certified to EN-71 (Europe) and ASTM F963 (US). Every edge is sanded smooth. Plates lock onto the bar with a screw collar, so there are no loose pieces that can come off in play. We test everything on our own kids before it goes on sale.

We split the range into three groups, and each product page says which one it belongs to:

• Babies (0–2) — grip, balance and pushing. The Power Sled doubles as a walker from around 9 months.
• Kids (2–5) — first reps, copying mum and dad.
• Lifters (5–10) — real form, real sets, still featherweight.

Ages are a guide, not a rule. You know your child better than a label does.

A single plate is 2.5 kg at most — lighter than a full water bottle. The Elite Barbell holds up to 22 lb (10 kg) of plates in total, and that is the ceiling by design. This is about movement, balance and grip, not load.

No. That worry comes from adult-style maximal lifting, which is not what this is. At these weights your child is learning a movement pattern the same way they learn to climb or ride a bike. If your child has a medical condition, ask your paediatrician first — we are a toy and fitness brand, not a medical one.

Yes. Treat it like any other active play: an adult in the room, and gear put away after use. That goes for home and for gym floors.

The plates lock with a screw collar and the sets have no loose small parts. As with any toy, check the collars are tight before a session.

It is built for hard play and tested by our own kids. Parents who bought early tell us the same thing: "We got it 8 months ago and it's still in new shape."

Starter is the bar plus two plates. Elite is the bar plus six plates and a storage rack, so your child can actually change the load between sets.

Mostly. Barbells and racks need a few minutes with the included instructions. Parents consistently tell us assembly was easy.

A corner. A barbell set needs about two square metres to use safely; the sled needs a short run. No permanent setup, no wall fixing.

No. There is a pink barbell set for the kids who want one, and every other set is the same gear for everybody. Movement isn't gendered.

Five to fifteen minutes. Short, fun, copy-the-parent. If they want to stop, stop — the point is that they ask to do it again tomorrow.

Yes. The BabyGains Play app has age-grouped workouts, and there is a play guide on the site.

This is imitation-driven, not novelty-driven. They use it for as long as they see you train. That is also why the app is built around routine rather than surprise.

No. The gear works on its own. The app adds guided workouts if you want structure.

Through the store you bought it from: App Store → your profile → Subscriptions, or Play Store → Payments & subscriptions. We have no access to cancel it for you.

The United States, Canada and Europe. US orders ship from our warehouse in Knoxville, Tennessee; European orders go through our EU logistics partner. Full rates are in our Shipping Policy.

Orders are processed within 1–2 business days, Monday to Friday. After that: 3–7 business days to the continental US, 5–9 to the West Coast, 7–14 to Canada, 5–18 across Europe depending on the country. You get a tracking number by email the moment it leaves the warehouse.

US orders over $179 ship free. Below that, shipping is calculated on the weight of your order — see the Shipping Policy for the exact rates.

Bigger sets and bundles sometimes ship as more than one parcel, so nothing arrives crushed. Both parcels travel under the same order and usually arrive within a day of each other. If one is missing after that, email info@babygains.nl.

For orders delivered outside the US, customs duties and taxes may be charged on arrival by your local customs authority. We do not collect them at checkout, so they are the buyer's responsibility.

You have 14 days from receiving your order. The product must be unused, undamaged and, where reasonably possible, in its original packaging. Return shipping is at your own expense unless the return is our mistake — a damaged or incorrect item. Returns go to our address in the Netherlands, so factor that in from the US.

To start one, email info@babygains.nl with your order number and the items you want to return. Once it arrives and checks out, we refund within 5 business days. Full terms: Refund Policy.

Email info@babygains.nl with your order number and a photo. If it is our mistake, we cover it — replacement or refund, and you do not pay return shipping.

Every order ships with tracking, sent to the email address you used at checkout. If it has not arrived within the delivery window above, email us and we will chase it.
